1. Sometimes I feel that people bash certain commonalities in American culture a bit more than is necessary - albeit there is worth in constructive criticism. In that respect, I try to sometimes stay neutral, but yeah, the book looked interesting and worth its salt. BUT… I have this really bad habit of not finishing books, so I didn’t buy it. Tho, I think you might enjoy it.

    whitember replied to your postHappy

Not to be Debbie Downer here, but your post reminded me of this book I once gave a cursory glance to: amazon.com/Bright-…

How so? And did you end up giving it a read? I need something new to keep me occupied.

  2. Minor Successes Make Me Go (!)

I said a lot of things before coming to Europe. I also daydreamed of many possibilities, but once I got here the follow through was hit and miss.

So far I’ve traveled a bit, but not to the places I necessarily thought I would. I’ve taken pictures, but not so much with the Minolta that I brought with me. The Minolta issue is only a result of the weather here that has only improved within the past month and a half. You’d be surprised what Spring has done to the mood here… and the general splendor of everything. Buildings aren’t so bleak and people are slightly more tolerable.

I cannot say I’ve been the best employee today for various reasons, but tomorrow marks the start of our Easter holiday and I took the initiative to start my celebration today. :)

That is to say… Whit finally got her act together and has two must-have trips mostly accounted for. With the exception of Parisian housing, I’m going to Paris in June and London in May. My excitement is a 10 on a scale of 1-10. I’m. Pumped.

What really made me smile, though, was the fact that I paid very little for these train tickets.

    London: 70€ RT

    Paris: 50€ RT

Oh yeah, and Mr. Minolta is going to get some great shots in… plus I have to use up all the film I have or else things might get ugly. My Ektar 100 film is going to kill me if I don’t employ it.

About me

I have a working compass for one city alone. Everywhere else, I'm perpetually lost.

However, this tends to lend itself well for stories, meeting new people and long walks.
